  • 1/4-cup all-purpose flour
  • 1-teaspoon basil
  • 1-teaspoon oregano
  • 1 1/4-teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2-teaspoon black pepper
  • 1-teaspoon garlic powder
  • 6-ounces chopped chicken breast
  • 2-tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2-teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2-tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2-teaspoons capers
  • 1/4-cup red wine
  • 6 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1, 18-ounce can low-sodium, French onion soup
  • 1-cup peas
  • 1/2-cup pearl onions
  • 2-tablespoons butter
  • 1 large can refrigerated French bread dough
  • 1-teaspoon crushed rosemary leaves
  • 1-cup low-fat, shredded provolone cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix flour, herbs, salt, pepper and garlic in a shallow bowl
  3. Dredge chicken in flour and spice mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook chicken until brown.
  5. Add lemon zest, lemon juice, wine, capers and French onion soup and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add 1-tablespoon butter, peas and pearl onions and cook an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Unroll French bread dough, fold over lengthwise and cut into 4 even sections.
  8. Place 3/4-cup of filling in each of 4 ramekins and cover each one with a piece of bread dough.
  9. Brush the tops of the pies with the remaining tablespoon of butter and sprinkle with rosemary.
  10. Place pies on a 16- by- 10-inch sheet pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until brown.
  11. Sprinkle pies with cheese and place under broiler for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
