Low Fat Salad Dressing

Recipe: Balsamic Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

Summary: I have a healthy salad almost every day and I am always sick & tired of all the store bought salad dressings, so I made one myself!. If you’ll find the dressing too thin, just put it in the fridge for a bit to make it thicker. I truly liked this salad dressing and it’s incredibly easy to prepare.


  • 1 tbsp . honey
  • 1 tbsp . Dijon mustard or 1 tbsp . stone ground mustard
  • 3 tbsps . balsamic wine vinegar, to taste
  • 1 whole peppercorn, (optional)


  1. Mix mustard and honey in a bowl using a fork until emulsified.
  2. Drizzle in the balsamic wine vinegar until dressing is sufficiently thin to pour over salad.
  3. Taste and add more wine vinegar if needed.
  4. Crush the peppercorns using a mortar and pestle or possibly in a spice grinding machine.
  5. Blend salad dressing and drizzle on salad.

Quick notes

Fantastic on a chicken breast and avocado salad or simply an ordinary green salad. It is also very good with agave nectar substituted for the honey.
